ARI (Advanced Reading Instruction) is the natural follow-on from the BRI (Beginning Reading Instruction) programme.
The usual age embarking on ARI is six or seven, but the lively stories, meticulous introduction of the Alphabetic Code and copious amounts of reading practice are also highly useful for:
older children requiring additional help with decoding/comprehension
pupils learning English as a Foreign Language
and teenagers and adults needing support before embarking on MRI
(Mature Reading Instruction). Use the Initial Assessments in Resources to ascertain which level your student should start with.
